i’ve been trying to figure it out for 1 week now. which one is better for your mac, the GUID partition table or MBR? But still i cant decide which one is better but here some comparation
- MBR is oldet than GUID so i think is more advance.
- you cant install 32bit OS (win XP) on GUID disk, because it doesnt understand GUID partition. See this for more details
- Some people say if you use Mac OS GUID is a little bit faster in performance.
- On Mac you only can resize disk partitions that use GUID format.
- If you use OS like iPC or any Hackintosh OS, its easier to install on MBR disk format (i think). And its easier to setup dual booting (XP and Mac).
- If you using a Mac machine i think GUID is a better choise.
Thats all for now any additional comment?
one thing to consider before buy a mac for an Architec is autocad. A software that is very important for an architec. Is there an AutoCAD for Mac? that is the question. And this news maybe the aswer. I just read on Arch Daily that Autodesk, the sofware developer of AutoCAD is taking a survey that indicates the future release of AutoCAD for Mac OSX. you can take the survey by yourself here. And take a look at the sceenshot below.

how do you think?
